Quest to Find Life Purpose
Many of us want to find out what our true purpose in life. A quest, unfortunately, one often never gets to explore. Why is this? Is it because of time? Circumstances? Fears? Beliefs? The list of excuses seem to be endless for many people.
If you want to live a fulfilled and joyful life with meaning and purpose, you must take the time and do the hard work necessary. It starts with being honest with yourself.
Break The Routine
Below is a list of 25 questions that may shed some light to help you find your true purpose in life. Take the time to answer each question honestly and without judgement from yourself and from the people around you. Time to dig deep.
What would I want, as my legacy, to leave the world?
If I had to make the best guess about the meaning of my life, what would it be?
What social interaction did I enjoy most of all?
What makes me weep, or bring tears to my eyes, with joy?
What particular gift do I have that I can give to the world?
In school, what subjects did I enjoy the most?
If only other people didn’t think it was crazy, what would I like to do?
Who are the individuals I respect the most? Why do these people admire me?
What challenge would I love to conquer and then help others to do the same?
If money, or time, or current obligations were not a problem, what would I like more than anything else in the world to do with my life?
Be Open-Minded With Your Answers
RIGHT NOW, what would I like to do that would offer me the most satisfaction or pleasure?
If it were possible to give me the power to change the world, what would I do?
What’s the greatest dream that I’ve ever had in my life?
What did I dream of doing with my life when I was a child?
What is it that scares me a little, but if I did it, will it be very exciting?
If I could not fail, what would I do with my life?
What has been the biggest obstacle I have faced in my life so far? How did I deal with it?
What have I done in my life of which I am genuinely proud?
What will it be like on my dream day?
What task have I performed where time seems to pass by so quickly?
What do I most regret not doing in my life so far?
What do I, more than anything else, love to do?
What am I really interested in learning?
What art or design did I love the most?
If you could just drop everything. Where would you go? What would you do?
The Journey to Discovery
Take the time to answer as many of these questions that you can. Be honest with yourself and the answers that you come up with will be key to help you discover your true purpose in life. Good luck on your journey.
