Breaking the Stigma: A Poem on Mental Health Awareness

Mental health, is a subject once taboo,

But now we know, it affects me and you.

It’s not a weakness, nor a source of shame,

But rather a challenge, we cannot blame.

From anxiety to depression, and everything in between,

Mental health issues can be tough, and unseen.

They can leave us feeling, overwhelmed and alone,

But with support and care, we can call them our own.

Talking about our struggles, is the first step to healing,

Acknowledging our feelings, and learning to be more revealing.

Seeking help when we need it, is a sign of strength,

And taking care of our minds, is a journey of great length.

There’s no magic cure, for mental health woes,

But there are tools and resources, that can help us grow.

Therapy, and self-care too, Are all ways we can manage,

and see ourselves through.

So let’s break the stigma, and open the door,

To conversations about mental health, and so much more.

For we are all human, with minds that can falter,

But with compassion and understanding, we can all find our altar.
